It is extremely cold in the Trans-Himalayan region of Lahaul-Spiti of Himachal Pradesh, meanwhile a beautiful sight is being seen in the Sisu Lake there. The once flowing lake is now engulfed in the icy embrace of winter and has turned into a magical frozen paradise.

Last weekend, temperatures in the valley dropped to a bone-chilling -15°C, painting the landscape in shades of white and silver. Sisu Lake, situated at an altitude of more than 12 thousand feet, is mainly facing this severe cold. Its crystal-clear waters (usually teeming with trout) have now succumbed to frost and turned into a glassy sheet of ice.

Just a few weeks ago, before the arrival of the New Year, the hill state of Himachal Pradesh was witnessing a huge influx of tourists. While other northern Indian states are shrouded in fog, Himachal Pradesh is enjoying clear skies and pleasant weather. Tourists are racing to enjoy skating in Kufri.
