During the festival season, people are not able to get tickets to go home. Many times people try to book tickets 2 to 3 months in advance, but still the seats on the train are seen waiting. In such a situation, the problem of how people will go home on Diwali has been reduced by Indian Railways.

Every year many special trains are run by the Railways on the occasion of Diwali. With the help of this, you can easily celebrate the festivals of Diwali and Chhath Puja with your family.

How many new trains did Indian Railways start?

283 special trains have been started for the festival of Diwali and Chhath Puja. These trains will make 4,480 journeys during the festive season.

Apart from this, Western Railway will run 36 trains during the festive season covering 1,262 journeys. Also, 24 trains are being run by North-Western Railways, which will cover 1,208 journeys.

From where to where will you be able to travel?

Through these trains, travel will be done from cities like Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Bathinda, Guwahati to places like Patna, Gaya, Jaynagar, Gorakhpur, Chhapra, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, Siwan, Firozpur, Darbhanga, Varanasi.

From Mumbai, you can travel by Jammu Tawi AC Superfast Special, Surat Subedarganj Special, (09075) Mumbai Central Kathgodam Superfast Special train from November 08, 2023 to November 29.
