In 1979, BappaNyumanNuarta, a resident of Indonesia, wanted to build a huge statue (Statue maker Nyuman). He wanted to make such a big statue like no other in the world. After planning for a long time, the construction of the statue was started in 1994 with some money.
There was some shortage of funds between 2007 and 2013, due to which the construction of the statue was stopped. Along with this, the nearby villagers were also protesting against the construction of the statue. But when they were explained about the tourism and income generated by this statue, they ended their opposition. After which the construction of the idol started again. This statue was completely completed in 2018.
Sculptor NeumanNuarta has also received an award in India. Former President of the country Ram NathKovindhonoured him with Padma Shri, one of the country's highest civilian honours. The fame of this idol spread all over the world. People of other religions also come here in large numbers.
