Kothari Patwa Haveli Museum
This museum is built in a mansion. The most beautiful haveli in Jaisalmer has been converted into a private museum, showcasing the way of life of the Patwa family, who were wealthy Jain brocade traders. The family built the mansion together with four others in the cluster in the early 19th century. It took more than 50 years to complete. Don't forget to see the beautiful view of the city and the fort from the terrace of the mansion.
Jaisalmer War Museum
Jaisalmer War Museum pays tribute to the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces. These soldiers fought bravely in some of the most challenging battles in history. The Desert Corps of the Indian Army developed it under Lieutenant General Bobby Mathews. If you are interested in the military history of the country, then you must visit the War Museum of Jaisalmer.
Jaisalmer Fort Palace Museum
The former royal residence inside the Jaisalmer Fort has now been converted into a museum. Many artefacts depicting the history of the city are present inside the Jaisalmer Fort. Its structure is simple compared to other havelis of Jaisalmer. The entire palace is not open to the public, but you can tour the rooms where visiting guests are entertained and the separate quarters of the king and queen. The main attractions here include the king's silver throne, a gallery of 15th-century sculptures, antiquities such as paintings, stamps of the former princely states of Rajasthan and a section on Jaisalmer's annual GangaurUtsav procession.
Baa Ri Haveli Museum
If you want to know about everyday life in Jaisalmer Fort, then you can know it through this museum located near the Jain temple complex inside the fort. The 450 year old mansion has now been converted into a museum. This mansion was once owned by Hindu priests who advised the king.
Thar Heritage Museum
This small museum was established in 2006 by the famous local historian, folklorist and writer Lakshmi Narayan Khatri. This museum displays a collection of artefacts related to the history and lifestyle of the Jaisalmer desert. It contains ancient marine fossils, weapons, documents telling about trade deals between local traders and visitors from Asia, coins, paintings, utensils, tools, clothes etc.
