Shikara will start running in the Rapti river next week. Its trial is going on at Guru Gorakshanath Ghat. After running it, there is a preparation to order another Shikara soon. Simultaneously five to six people will be able to sit on it and enjoy water tourism. The fare for half an hour will be Rs 250.
There will be a change in the model of Shikara
Shikara operates in Dal Lake of Kashmir. Shikara prepared on the same design will be run in Rapti river. Although it is made of the tin sheet instead of wood. The Shikara of Kashmir is made of wood and is propelled with the help of a paddle. Because of the flow in the Rapti river, a small motor has also been installed in the Shikara running here. Amar Nishad of executive body Bhole Vandana Pvt Ltd says that when Shikara goes against the stream, it will be run by a motor. In return, it will be operated with the help of a paddle. There will be no noise from the motor, so you will get full enjoyment on it like Shikara.
The sofa and cushion are also fitted
The shikara is covered with a blue colored cloth. A sofa and a chair have also been installed in it. People will also be able to sit and have a meeting amidst the waves of water. There will also be arrangements for snacks in Shikara. It can be taken by paying separately. Shikara will cover a distance of about one kilometer in 15 minutes.
Arrangements for children's entertainment
Fun zone, jumping bikes, etc. have been arranged for the entertainment of children at Guru Gorakshanath Ghat on the banks of Rapti river. Hundreds of children are also reaching daily. Many other facilities are also being developed here from the point of view of tourism. It is a matter of pride to walk shikara in the Kotrapati river. Along with Ramgarhtal, the Rapti river is also being developed for the entertainment of tourists.
