To date, you must have heard the names of many types of villages. The names of these villages can be different and strange. But, there is a village in Jaipur which is known as HathiGaon. This village is named Hathi because you will find an elephant in almost every house here.

After entering the village, wherever you go, you will see only elephants. Somewhere the elephant might be bathing in a pond, and somewhere the elephant might be taking people for a walk. In this village, you will get to see all kinds of cute elephants, big and small. People have given different names to their elephants here.

This may sound like a dream to you, but it is true. If you love elephants, then you must visit the elephant village once. Believe me, after going here you will feel as if you have come to the city of elephants. In the year 2008, the state government declared the name of this village as HathiGaon.

Where is Hathi Village?

This elephant village located in Jaipur is the first elephant village in India and the third in the world. This village is spread over a total of 140 bighas of land. Special arrangements have been made to keep elephants in this village. In which there is a special pond for elephants to bathe. You will see greenery all around in the village. Besides, big rooms have also been built to keep elephants. According to the report, there are currently more than 80 elephants in this village.

  • Timings- It can be reached from 11 am to 6 pm.
  • Location- You can come here from the road meeting Jaipur-Delhi highway and Amer Fort road. Hathi village is at a distance of 3.7 kilometers from Amer Fort. Most of the elephants that you see in Amer Fort and surrounding areas are coming from this village only.

Fee for entry into Elephant Village

  • If you are going to visit here, then keep in mind that you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50 per person for entry into the village. There is a fee of Rs 300 for foreign tourists to enter the village.
  • If you want to ride an elephant in the village, the elephant driver charges Rs 1100 for a ride.
  • If you ride an elephant at Amer Fort in Jaipur, you have to pay only Rs 500 for it.
  • Therefore here you can go only to see elephants. If you want to ride an elephant, you can do so near a fort outside the village. Here you will get a chance to ride cheaply.
