What facilities are available from the airline in case of flight delay or cancellation?

  • If the flight does not take off as per the scheduled time or is delayed by two to six hours, the company will provide food and refreshments to the passengers.
  • According to DGCA, if a flight is delayed by more than 6 hours, passengers will have to be informed about the rescheduled time 24 hours in advance.

  • If no information is given to the passengers by the airline in case of flight cancellation, then the airline has to pay a compensation of Rs 5000 to ₹ 10000.
  • If a passenger is not ready to wait for this much time then he is given a full refund.
  • If the passenger is willing to wait and the waiting time is more than 24 hours, the airline will arrange free hotel accommodation for the passenger.
  • If a flight is scheduled to take off between 8 pm to 3 am but is delayed by 6 hours, passengers will still be given free hotel accommodation for their stay.
