Rahul had suffered an injury on his right thigh and opted to undergo surgery. Due to this, he could not play in the final of the World Test Championship against Australia at The Oval. Team India was defeated in that match. After a successful surgery, the wicket-keeper batsman is undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
