Recently the Sri Lankan cricket team has been announced for the One Day World Cup 2023. In the World Cup to be played in India, the Sri Lanka team will play its first match against South Africa on 7 October. After the problem of injured players, the Sri Lankan team announced a 15-member team and gave the responsibility of captaincy to Dasun Shanaka and vice-captain to Kusal Mendis.

Leg spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of this major tournament due to injury, due to which the World Cup team was announced late. Due to Hasaranga's injury, he could not even play in the Asia Cup. In such a situation, the team will definitely miss Hasaranga in the World Cup.

Along with this, let us tell you that the Sri Lankan team's fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has failed to recover from his shoulder injury and due to this he has also been left out of the ODI World Cup team. Madushanka missed the tournament after suffering a hamstring injury during a practice game ahead of the Asia Cup, while Lahiru Kumara missed playing cricket due to a recurring hamstring injury.
