Despite the presence of the world's richest cricket board and star cricketers, and support staff, Team India's drought for the ICC title continues. Australia became the new Test champions by defeating India by 209 runs on the fifth day of the final of the World Test Championship.
Australia bundled out for 234 before lunch on Sunday. With this victory, Australia became the only team in the world to win all the ICC titles. This is Australia's first Test Championship title and India's second successive final defeat.
In 2021, Team India was also defeated by New Zealand in the final of the first Test Championship. Australia now has nine ICC titles. India won the last ICC title in the form of the Champions Trophy in 2013.
