The countdown has begun for the ICC ODI World Cup. 10 international teams will fight for this title on 10 grounds in India. This World Cup will be played from October 5 to November 19. The World Cup 2011 was held in India and under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India became the world champion for the last time. It was also the last World Cup for the great batsman Sachin Tendulkar, so all the Indian players wanted to win the World Cup for Sachin.
This year also something similar is being expected from India that by winning the World Cup the team will end the long wait of 10 years for the ICC trophy. Former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag believes that the Indian team should win the World Cup this time thanks to Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli will play fourth ODI World Cup
This year Virat Kohli will play his fourth ODI World Cup. He was also a part of Team India in the ODI World Cup 2011 and that was his first World Cup. He got the chance to lift the trophy in his very first ICC tournament. However, after this the Indian team has played 11 ICC tournaments and won only one of them (2013 Champions Trophy). India has struggled in ICC tournaments ever since Dhoni left international cricket. In such a situation, Sehwag wants young players to play this World Cup for Kohli.
Sehwag praised Virat
Sehwag said, "Everyone should win this World Cup for Virat Kohli. He is a great person and player. He always helps other players. Kohli is very much like Sachin Tendulkar in the way he plays." He talks and the kind of approach he has towards the game. Like Sachin, Kohli is extremely passionate about cricket. His dedication towards the game is also unbelievable. He gives his 100 per cent in every match. Virat in every way are greater than."
When Sehwag was asked whether Virat would be able to break Sachin's record of most centuries in the World Cup? To this Sehwag replied, "Yes, of course it can. I always tell youngsters and even my kids to learn from Virat. He always plays till the end and never gives away his wicket. As usual This time also Virat will be excited for the World Cup. He would like to perform on such a big stage once again and lead his team to victory."
