Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi has told his ICC chairman Greg Barclay about his apprehensions about playing in the World Cup. Pakistan is set to play against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The PCB wants its matches to be held in Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

Barclay and ICC General Manager Geoff Allardice had recently gone to Karachi to seek assurance from the PCB chief that they would not seek to play their World Cup matches at a neutral venue. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has rejected Pakistan's hybrid model regarding the Asia Cup. Since then Pakistan has been throwing tantrums regarding the World Cup.
Pakistan will go to Ahmedabad for the final or knockout match
PCB sources told news agency PTI, “Sethi has conveyed to Barclay and Allardyce that Pakistan does not want them to play matches in Ahmedabad. If the Pakistan government allows the team to travel to India for the World Cup tour to be held in October and November, it would like to go to Ahmedabad only for the final or knockout matches.

The Pakistani board is apprehensive about the safety of its players. The Inzamam-ul-Haq-led team played at the Motera Stadium (Narendra Modi Stadium) during the 2005 tour of India. The PCB official also informed that Sethi has asked ICC officials to persuade the BCCI to accept Pakistan's hybrid model for the Asia Cup.
Pakistan's argument for sharing in ICC revenue
The source also confirmed that Sethi had also stressed that he would not accept the new revenue-sharing model unless its share was increased in the new five-year cycle. "Sethi said it was unfair that Pakistan should get a lesser share of ICC revenue in the new cycle than Australia and England," the source said. Sethi argued that Australia and England regularly play bilateral matches with India. series and their players also take part in the Indian Premier League, which means that both boards get additional revenue from managing the IPL.
