Team India: 18-member team squad led by Ajit Agarkar has been selected for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024 (BGT 2024). Rohit Sharma has been given the responsibility of captaincy in the squad selected for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Meanwhile, after the poor performance of Team India in the New Zealand series, a meeting has been held with BCCI selection committee head Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir present in the team management. After which it is now believed that there will be changes in the team squad selected for the Border Gavaskar Trophy and Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav and Hardik Pandya will be included in the squad of Team India.
Reddy, Siraj and Rahul will be out of the Border Gavaskar Trophy squad

Iyer, Umesh and Hardik Pandya may return to Team India
If the selection committee decides to exclude Mohammad Siraj, Nitish Reddy and KL Rahul, then in their place the selection committee can decide to include match-winning players like Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav and Hardik Pandya, who have played Test matches for Team India, in the squad.
