Jay Shah On Women's, Differently-Abled And Test: Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has now become the President of the International Cricket Council (ICC). He was declared the chairman of the ICC unopposed. He will start taking charge as ICC chairman from December 1. After becoming the ICC Chairman, Jay Shah said, as quoted by BCCI, "I express my gratitude to the ICC Member Board for assuming this honorable role of ICC President and reposing faith in me. I want to assure you that I will make every effort to raise the level of our game around the world. As I step into this important role, I am fully committed to fulfilling your great expectations and dedicating myself to the beautiful game of cricket."

Jai Shah further talked about finding new talent and the importance of Test cricket. He said, "I would also like to work on creating a separate program for talent search during my tenure and I expect your support in this program. Since T20 is naturally an exciting format, it is equally important that Test cricket remains a priority for everyone as it is the basis of the game. We have to see that cricketers are inspired towards the longer format and our efforts will be directed towards this goal."

He further said about women's and disabled cricket, "We must take ICC's mission forward by putting more resources and attention on women's cricket and disabled cricket. Together we can strengthen these important aspects of the game, making them not only clean but also strong and prosperous."
