The world's biggest cricket league is the Indian Premer League and it has had 17 editions so far and now cricket fans are waiting for the IPL 2025 season. Whose preparations have been started by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This year, franchises will have the opportunity to retain a limited number of players, a strategic move that can significantly shape the future of the teams.
Retention Guidelines:
Each franchise, including Delhi Capitals, will be allowed to retain 5 players ahead of the auction. Team captain and excellent wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is a prime candidate for retention due to his impressive performance.

Rishabh Pant - The captain has consistently performed well for Delhi Capitals.
Axar Patel – The star all-rounder has shown remarkable consistency in recent seasons.
Jake Fraser-McGurk – A young talent making waves in the league.
Tristan Stubbs – Recognised for his stellar performances during IPL 2024.
Anrich Nortje – A vital asset with his fast bowling skills.
Players to be released:
Ishant Sharma – The veteran pacer could be let go as part of the rebuilding strategy.
Prithvi Shaw – The young batsman could be released due to his inconsistent form.
David Warner – Despite his experience, Warner’s performances have not lived up to expectations lately.
