Team India's run machine Virat Kohli achieved a special feat while batting on the second day of the first Test being played in Dominica with the West Indies. On the first day of the match, West Indies were reduced to a score of 150 in the first innings, in response to which Rohit Sharma and young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal played a key role in giving the team a lead of 162 runs, starting a strong innings from India.

After captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 103, Shubman Gill returned to the pavilion for just six runs, after which Virat along with Yashasvi handled the innings. Virat and Yashasvi remained at the crease till the end of the second day's play. During the batting, Virat Kohli left behind former Indian opener Virender Sehwag in terms of runs.

Virat Kohli is stuck at the crease after scoring 36 runs with the help of a four. With this, he completed 8500 runs in Test format. Kohli has now become the fifth Indian batsman to do so. In this case, King Kohli has left behind former batsman Virender Sehwag. After an unbeaten 36 against the West Indies, Virat's total runs in Test format have reached 8515.

Kohli became the fifth Indian batsman
Virat Kohli has become the fifth Indian batsman to score the most runs in Tests. Now his next target is VVS Laxman, who scored 8,781 runs in Tests. Before Virat and Laxman, there are Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid, and Sachin Tendulkar who have crossed the 10,000 mark in Tests. Sunil Gavaskar was the first Indian batsman to reach the 10,000 mark in Tests. Apart from him, Team India's current coach Rahul Dravid has scored 13,265 runs and Sachin Tendulkar has scored 15,921 runs.

At the end of the second day's play in Dominica, India scored 312 runs for the loss of two wickets, taking a 162-run lead over the hosts. Jomel Warrican and Alyque Athanaj took one wicket each for the West Indies.
