Indian captain Virat Kohli slipped a place down to 5th position in the ICC T20 Batting Rankings despite scoring a half-century against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021. Team India's opener KL Rahul has lost two places and has slipped to number eight. Although India had to face a crushing defeat by 10 wickets in the Super-12 match against Pakistan (India vs Pakistan) on Sunday, Kohli (725 rating points) scored fifty in 49 balls in this innings. KL Rahul scored three runs.

Mohammad Rizwan achieved a career-best ranking

Pakistan opener Mohammad Rizwan has gained three places to reach the fourth position, which is his career-best ranking. Rizwan's ranking advantage was his 79 not out in the match against India and 33 runs in the team's second win against New Zealand on Tuesday. South African batsman Aidan Markram scored 40 and 51 not out against Australia and West Indies respectively to achieve his career-best ranking. He jumped eight places to occupy the third position. Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz rocked the rankings

Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz climbed nine places to reach a career-best 12th spot after scoring 46 against Scotland. Bangladesh opener Mohammad Naeem has jumped 11 places to reach a career-best 13th position after scoring 62 off 52 balls against Sri Lanka. Namibian captain Gerhard Erasmus has moved up to joint 37th place after leading his team to the Super 12.

The top nine in the bowlers' list include all spinners. Bangladesh spinner Mahedi Hasan has moved up nine places to reach a career-best 12th spot on the back of stringent bowling. Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi, who shone in a memorable 10-wicket win against India, managed to gain 11 places with his three-wicket haul in 31 runs to move up to 12th position. He is just two places behind his career-best ranking.

Haris Rauf, who took four wickets for 22 runs against New Zealand, played a key role in Pakistan's second successive win and the performance helped him gain 34 places to reach a career-best 17th position. Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan has retained his top position in the all-rounder's list.
