Pakistan had earlier refused to visit India. For this reason, the ICC announced the schedule after a delay of several weeks. The ICC has also agreed with the Pakistan Cricket Board, from which it cannot back down.

Pakistan vice-captain Shadab Khan has an interesting take on the clash with India. Shadab is the vice-captain of the Pakistani team in white ball cricket. He said- Playing against India gives a different pleasure. The pressure is also different in this match. Now that we have to go there, we know that will be their home ground. People will be against us. However, we are going there to play in the World Cup. So we should think about the whole tournament and not just the match against India because if we win against India and lose the World Cup, it is of no use.

The last time the team traveled to India was during the 2016 T20 World Cup. Then Pakistan and India were to play a match in Dharamshala. However, Pakistan did not want to play in Dharamshala. In such a situation, the India-Pakistan match was shifted to Kolkata due to security reasons.

48 matches will be played in 46 days in the world
A total of 48 matches will be played in 46 days in the ODI World Cup this year. World Cup matches will be played in 10 cities in India. There are matches in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamshala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata. Apart from Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Thiruvananthapuram will host warm-up matches from September 29 to October 3. A total of 10 teams will participate.


In this World Cup, one team will play with the other nine teams in a round-robin format. Out of these, the top four teams in the points table will make it to the semi-finals and the winning teams will compete in the finals. Last time the World Cup was organized in England in the same format. Then the English team defeated New Zealand in the final.

Eight teams have already qualified for the tournament and the remaining two places are being played in Zimbabwe with a qualifier round, with six teams making it to the Super Sixes. Two of these teams will participate in the main round of the World Cup to be held in India.
