On Friday, the ICC announced a panel of three match referees and 10 umpires, comprising officials from seven countries. These include match referees GS Lakshmi (India), Shandre Fritz (South Africa), and Mitchell Pereira (Sri Lanka).
The ICC on Friday announced the match officials for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa. All women have been included in the 13-member panel. It is believed that this initiative of ICC will prove to be a milestone.

On-field responsibility given
The on-field and TV umpires will be Sue Redfern (England), Eloise Sheridan (Australia), Claire Polosak (Australia), Jacqueline Williams (West Indies), Kim Cotton (New Zealand), Lauren Agenbag (South Africa), Anna Harris (England). Apart from this, Vrinda Rathi (India), N Janani (India), and Nimali Perera (Sri Lanka) will also be seen doing umpiring.
An ICC statement said the selection of this panel was part of the governing body's "strategic ambition to advance the participation of women in cricket". ICC General Manager Cricket Wasim Khan said: "Women's cricket has been growing rapidly in recent years and we are creating ways to ensure more women have the opportunity to officiate at the highest level.
"This announcement is an attempt to bring equal rights for women and men in world cricket, with the intention that this is the beginning of our journey, where men and women get equal opportunities in our sport," he added.
