Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah has once again been elected as the President of the Asian Cricket Council. It is believed that Jay Shah is also the frontrunner in the race for the ICC presidential election to be held this year. Jay Shah has been working as BCCI Secretary for the last three years, during which many changes have been seen under his leadership.

However, it may come as a surprise that Jay Shah does not receive a salary from BCCI. No BCCI official gets a monthly or annual salary. However, officers of the Board enjoy various facilities, including allowances for attending meetings, traveling expenses, and other facilities.

How much do executives get?

The decision to increase the allowances of officials was taken after the BCCI meeting in October 2022. Board officials get an allowance of Rs 40,000 per day for attending meetings within the country, while officials for meetings abroad get around Rs 80,000 per day.

In addition, whether in India or abroad, each officer is entitled to a business class ticket for travel provided by the Board. These facilities are available to the President, Secretary, Vice President, Treasurer, and other top officials of BCCI. It is worth noting that BCCI officials also hold positions on other boards, such as Jay Shah being both BCCI Secretary and Asian Cricket Council President, and they also receive allowances based on the meetings they attend in those capacities.
