The North East cricketers are currently training at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. A day before these players got a big surprise when suddenly the captain of the Indian football team Sunil Chhetri reached NCA to meet them. Along with encouraging the players coming from the north-eastern states, Chhetri also tried his hand at fielding. He gave a good challenge to the players who have been playing cricket for years. A video of this has been shared by BCCI from its Twitter account.

In this video, Sunil Chhetri can be seen running to catch the ball and after that, he throws vigorously. BCCI shared the video with an interesting caption. It reads, 'The captain and legend of the Indian football team, NCA's neighbor, Sunil Chhetri came here on Sunday evening and became a part of the fielding competition. Also shared some important things related to his shiny football career with the players who came for training from North-East.

Chhetri is a good friend of former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli. Last year during the lockdown caused by Corona, Sunil Chhetri hosted Virat Kohli on Instagram live chat. Then both these players narrated many interesting tales related to their childhood days spent in Delhi.

Chhetri has played a record 125 football matches for India in a career spanning 17 years and has been the poster boy of Indian football since Bhaichung Bhutia's retirement in 2011. He is India's top scorer with 74 goals. Chhetri is the only Indian to score hat-tricks on three separate occasions in international football.
