The second Test of the Ashes series between England and Australia began on Wednesday (June 28) at Lord's. English captain Ben Stokes won the toss and decided to bowl first. On the first day of the match, Australia's legendary batsman Steve Smith batted brilliantly and completed his half-century. During this, Smith made many records in his name.

Smith achieved special achievement at Lord's
Steve Smith has crossed the 50-run mark in the fourth consecutive innings at Lord's. He is the fourth batsman to score four consecutive 50 or more runs at this ground. Frank Worrell of the West Indies achieved this feat between 1921 and 1926. Apart from Worrell, Australia's Warren Bardsley (1912–1926) and England's Nasser Hussain (2001–2002) did this.
