With the start of the year 2022, The Henley Passport Index has released a ranking of the most powerful passports in the world. This ranking is important for India, as the ranking of Indian passports has risen by 7 points this year as compared to October 2021. With an Indian passport, people will now be able to travel to 60 countries without a visa.

This ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) which shows how easy it is for people to travel to all countries with this passport.

According to the report released for the first quarter of the year 2022, the ranking of Indian Passports is 83rd which was 90th in October last year. That is an improvement of 7 points in the ranking of Indian passports. Along with India, Sao Tome and Principe are also named in this rank.

In the year 2021, Indian passport was allowed to go to 58 countries without visa which is now allowed to go to 60 countries. Oman and Armenia are among the two additional countries that have been granted visa-free travel.

Pakistan ranks 108th in The Henley Passport Index, which allows visa-free travel to 31 countries. This country has the right to travel to 181 countries on a passport.

Lithuania and Slovakia are ranked 9th. Travelers from this country can travel to 182 countries.

Hungary and Poland are ranked 8th in the powerful passport. Travelers from this country are allowed to travel to 184 countries.

Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Greece and Malta are ranked 7th out of 5 countries. Travelers to their country can travel to 185 countries.

Belgium, New Zealand. Six countries like Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom and America are in sixth place. People from this country can travel to 186 countries.

Ireland and Portugal are ranked 5th. People from this country are allowed to travel to 186 countries.

Austria, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, these 4 countries are number four. People from this country can travel to 188 countries without a visa.

Finland, Italy, Luxembourg and Spain are in third place in the passport rankings. Travelers from these 4 countries can travel to 189 countries.

Germany and South Korea are in second place. People from this country can travel to 190 countries.

Japan and Singapore are at the top. People from this country can travel to 192 countries without a visa.

In that sense, India lags far behind Japan and Singapore. Indians are allowed to travel to only 60 countries without a visa.
