YouTube was launched in India 15 years back in 2008 as a website. In 2009, media and film studios created their own YouTube channels.
In 2010, YouTube creators became known to the public and in 2011, the YouTube Partner Program was launched. In 2014, the first YouTube Fanfest was held in India.
The YouTube Kids app launched in 2016. 2017 saw the launch of the first paid digital good, Super Chat. YouTube Music app launched in 2019 in India.
In 2020 the company introduced YouTube Shorts and in 2021 came Super Thanks features. Multi language audio, AI dubbing introduced in 2022.
In 2023, YouTube expanded the partner program to shorts and launched courses.
