Yoga helps keep both your body and mind healthy. Be it children or adults, everyone is advised to do yoga regularly. Generally, children practice yoga with their parents after seeing them. It's a good idea to do so. But many times children do yoga in the wrong way, due to which they suffer losses instead of benefits.
In this, the fault is not of the children but of the parents. Since children learn by watching their parents, their mistakes impact the children. So, today in this article we are telling you about some such mistakes, which you should avoid while making children do yoga-
Making it too serious
Yoga is indeed very beneficial for health. But making it too serious for the child can be a big mistake on your part. This also happens because children are very playful by nature.
In such a situation, when you make the yoga session serious, children may lose interest in it. They may start running away from yoga. Make this yoga session a little lighter and also keep it as a fun activity for kids.
Skipping warm-up and cool down
Many times we do not pay attention to this, but like adults, children need to warm up and cool down. Many times we start yoga sessions with children straight away. Whereas this should not be done. Not doing so may cause injury to the child or even muscle strain.
Practice hard posture in the beginning
Like adults, yoga sessions should be a little easy for children too in the beginning. Try to make them practice such yoga asanas during their yoga session, which are easy and children can do them easily. In the beginning, they may face problems by making them practice difficult postures. It is also possible that they may injure themselves.
Not doing yoga according to age
The age of every child is different and hence it is very important to keep the age of the child in mind while practising yoga. Many times we do not take care of this and in such a situation the child may have to face problems. Therefore, whether you make children practice yoga alone or in a group, yoga asanas should be according to their age. If you make children does any tough posture then try its variations?
Prolonging yoga session
Generally, adults like to keep their yoga sessions a little longer, so that they can take care of the health of their entire body. But you should not make this mistake with children. They cannot sit in one place for too long. Too long a yoga session can cause restlessness and boredom. So, make sure the session is short so they can enjoy it.
