Lack of nutrition in food

Junk food or non-nutritious food can be harmful to health as well as cause weakening of eyesight. Some things are very nutritious for vision, which can be included in the diet. Lack of intake of foods containing zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamins C and E can lead to loss of eyesight. To avoid this, one should consume yellow and orange fruits and vegetables, leafy greens, eggs, nuts, amla, seafood, etc.

Smoking
Smoking increases the risk of lung and throat cancer. However, it also affects the eyes. There is a possibility of cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and many other serious diseases due to cigarette or tobacco consumption. Smokers are four times more likely to go blind than the general population.

Rubbing eyes frequently
People often have a habit of rubbing their eyes with their hands at any time. Getting something in the eyes, water coming in, or rubbing the eyes repeatedly due to any other reason can also increase the risk of blindness. By rubbing your eyes, you damage the blood vessels under the eyelids, which can impair vision.

Use of glasses and contact lenses
Even if you have power glasses but do not use them regularly, your eyesight is affected. Apart from this, if you wear someone else's powered glasses or sunglasses, it can also cause eye infections. If you use contact lenses and go to sleep with them on, your eyes do not get oxygen and your eyes start becoming blurry.
