The talk of South Indian food is different in winter and it is even more interesting to make it at home, so here we have come up with the recipe for Mixed Dal Vada which you can make at home in a few minutes. And can serve the family members.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup gram dal,
  • 1/4 cup washed moong dal,
  • 2 whole red chilies,
  • 1 tsp cumin,
  • 2 tsp coriander whole,
  • a pinch of asafoetida
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped
  • Enough refined oil for frying the vadas
  • Salt according to taste.

Soak both pulses separately in water for 5 hours. Then drain the water and mix both pulses. Put half the dal in the chopper of a hand blender and grind it coarsely. Put all the whole spices in the remaining lentils and grind them in the mixie. Mix the mixture.

Add salt, asafoetida powder, coriander leaves, and curry leaves after breaking them by hand. Mix cornflour and make small vadas with your hands. Then fry in hot oil on low flame till it becomes golden. These vadas can be taken in tiffin with chutney.
