Ingredients:

  • 1 cup washed moong dal
  • 1 cup ground corn kernels
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • some green chilies
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion and tomato
  • chopped coriander
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Oil 1 bowl
  • salt as per taste

  • Clean, wash and soak moong dal for 2 hours.

  • Grind soaked lentils with cumin-green chilies. Add salt and mix well.

  • Similarly, mix onion-tomato and green coriander in the ground corn and put a little salt and red chili powder in it.

  • Now heat the oil in a pan. Take moong batter in a small bowl and spread it on the griddle. Fry it like cheela on the griddle. Put two spoons of corn paste on top of the cheela.

  • Put some oil on the edges of the cheela and cook it and turn it on the other side. Cook for two minutes on low flame. Take it off when it becomes crispy from both sides and serve it with green chutney to your family and children in snacks or breakfast.
