In this era of fitness, the desire to get in shape as soon as possible after delivery has become common. Especially these days, influenced by the weight loss journey of Bollywood celebs, women want to lose weight in minimum time and get back to their old shape. But if seen from a health point of view, rushing into physical activity immediately after delivery can be harmful.
In fact, with the birth of a child, a woman's life changes completely... While as a mother, she is going through a phase of mental changes, at the same time, after pregnancy and delivery, she also faces many physical changes. In such a situation, rushing into exercise, workout or other physical activity during this time is like putting extra weight on the body, which should be avoided. Now the question arises how many days after delivery can a workout be started? So we talked to Dr Rita Das, a famous gynaecologist of Uttar Pradesh, about this and we are sharing the information we got from her here with you.
When to start working after pregnancy
Our health expert Dr. Rita Das explains that it takes a long time for the body to return to a normal state after delivery and the recovery period depends on whether it is a normal delivery or a cesarean. According to experts, while in normal delivery it takes about 4 weeks for the body to return to a normal state, in the case of cesarean delivery it may take about 6 to 8 weeks. Only after this, you should start working out, and also take advice from your doctor before starting it. Because they will give you advice only according to your health records.
If your physical condition is serious then the doctor will instruct you to do a workout or physical activity accordingly. Actually, during the process of delivery, the lower part of the body along with the uterus and vagina becomes quite weak. At the same time, during delivery, other parts of the body like the stomach, back and hips are also affected. Apart from this, physical weakness also occurs due to excessive bleeding. In such a situation, it is not appropriate to put extra burden of workout on the body and hence doctors advise you to take adequate rest.
