WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature that allows users to automatically silence calls from unknown callers that can be harmful and disturbing. In the last few months, WhatsApp users have received various spam calls from unknown numbers and some users have become victims of major financial frauds. To keep its users safe, WhatsApp issued an advisory and now it has rolled out a feature called Silence Unknown Callers.
Silence Unknown Callers is designed to give you more security and control over your incoming calls. It helps automatically screen out spam, scam, and calls from unknown people for enhanced security. These calls will not ring on your phone but will appear in your call list if it is an important person.
Apart from this, the company has also introduced Privacy Checkups. This step-by-step process guides you through important privacy settings, helping you choose the right level of protection. Selecting 'Start Checkup' in your privacy settings will navigate you through multiple privacy layers that strengthen the protection of your messages, calls, and personal information.
