Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has made a big announcement regarding its payment service in India. Now credit card payment will also be supported in WhatsApp Pay. After the arrival of this feature, WhatsApp Pay will compete with PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm. This new feature of WhatsApp will benefit about 50 crore users of WhatsApp in India.
UPI is already supported in WhatsApp payment and the new update will also be available with UPI. After the new update, you will be able to directly use credit and debit cards for WhatsApp UPI payments. GooglePay, PhonePe, and Paytm already support credit and debit card payments.
According to a report, about 30 crore people in India are using UPI and making payments of about 180 billion dollars every month. WhatsApp has also launched shopping with JioMart in India, although it is not yet fully launched. JioMart's services are currently limited to metro cities like Delhi, and Chennai.
Let us tell you that WhatsApp has recently launched the channel feature. It also has a Directory Search in which channels can be searched. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's WhatsApp channel has also been launched. Through the channel, users will get the opportunity to connect directly with their favorite content creators, businesses or celebrities.
