WhatsApp has released a new privacy feature, now unknown people will not be able to see your phone number

What is the new privacy feature?
With the help of this feature of WhatsApp, while joining a community, the user's phone number can be hidden from all the members. Currently, the list of community members in the Community Announcements group is already hidden, but if a user interacts with the message through a reaction, their phone number is exposed. Under the new privacy feature, it will be ensured that your phone number remains hidden even after reacting to a message. This means that other community users will not be able to see your phone number.

Feature released for beta users
The feature called "phone number privacy" is reportedly available to all Android and iOS beta testers. The Meta-owned instant messaging app hasn't officially revealed when the phone number privacy feature will be made live for all users. According to a report by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetainfo, it is available to all Android and iOS beta testers with WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.14.19 and iOS 23.14.0.70 beta version for iOS respectively.

Under the new feature, only community members will be able to hide their numbers. Group admin's number cannot be hidden. Let us know that WhatsApp has not yet officially announced the rollout of the phone number privacy feature. This may change before the final release.

Feature to silence spam calls
The Silent Unknown Caller feature has been introduced as a new privacy feature of WhatsApp. According to Meta, with the help of this feature, you will get rid of calls coming from unknown numbers. With the help of the new feature, calls coming from unknown numbers can be automatically silenced. However, users can later view these calls in the calls tab.
