What is water toxicity?
When you drink too much water in a short period, it can lead to water toxicity. This can disturb the balance of electrolytes present in the body. Our kidneys can flush about 0.8-1 litres of water in 1 hour, when we drink more than this, it can have serious consequences. In the event of over hydration or water toxicity, problems for the kidneys increase. The amount of water in the blood increases, which can have a bad effect on brain functions and sodium levels, can suddenly decrease. Due to this, the body gets harmed.
Know from these signs that you are drinking more water than necessary
- You need to pass urine more often

- Headache and nausea

How to avoid water toxicity?
- Adjust the amount of water depending on the season, physical activity and body type. It may not be the same for all.
- Drink coconut water. It helps in maintaining the balance of electrolytes in the body.

- Do not drink a lot of water at short intervals.
