Practicing yoga is beneficial for you both physically and mentally. However, wrong asana, posture, or wrong way of breathing during the practice of yoga can also cause harm to health. In such a situation, there are some basic poses that do not involve many twists and turns and can be done easily.

Common and easy yoga includes Vrikshasana, which is called Tree Pose in English. It is clear from the name itself that in Vrikshasana, the body is in the posture of a tree and balance has to be maintained in it. Benefits of Vrikshasana
Vrikshasana is a balancing asana, which helps in improving both physical and emotional balance.
Vrikshasana strengthens the muscles of the feet, ankles, calves, knees, and thighs.
This asana improves concentration.
Practicing this yoga can provide relief from the problem of sciatica.
Vrikshasana strengthens the spine.

The correct way to practice Vrikshasana
Step 1- Stand straight to practice Vrikshasana.
Step 2- Now bend the right knee and place the right foot on the left thigh.
Step 3- Balance the body by keeping the left leg straight.
Step 4- Raise the hands above the head and bring the palms together in a Namaste posture.
Step 5- Remain in this position for some time and then exhale and come back to normal position.

Precautions during exercise
Although the practice of Vrikshasana is safe in every way and everyone can do it. But in case of high blood pressure, practice only after medical advice or in front of a specialist.
People with high blood pressure should come in Namaste posture while practicing Vrikshasana, keeping the hands near the chest, do not raising the hands above the head.
If you suffer from vertigo or migraine, avoid practicing this asana.

The right time to practice
Vrikshasana should be practiced in the morning only. However, if you are doing Vrikshasana in the evening due to lack of time, then do the asana at least 4 to 6 hours before meals.
Keep in mind that you should defecate before doing the asana and your stomach should be empty.

Which asanas to do before and after Vrikshasana?
Before practicing Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Virabhadrasana 2 and Baddha Konasana should be done. Also, after practicing Vrikshasana, do only Yogasanas while standing.
