According to Vastu Shastra, Tulsi plant should not be touched after sunset. Rather, worship should be done in the evening by lighting incense lamps near the plant without touching it. Mother Lakshmi gets angry by touching Tulsi in the evening.
It has also been told in Vastu Shastra that water should not be poured into the Tulsi plant at night. Doing this can create obstacles in life. If possible, water the Tulsi plant early in the morning or sometime before sunset.
It is believed that the touch of Tulsi is prohibited on every Sunday and Ekadashi date. Also, offering water to the Tulsi plant is prohibited on this day. Along with this, do not pluck basil leaves on this day. By ignoring this rule Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi get angry.
It has been told in Vastu Shastra that Tulsi should always be kept in a clean and holy place. Also, a lamp should be lit in front of Tulsi in the morning and evening. By doing this, the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu remain on the sadhaks.
