Vaastu Shastra holds special importance in our lives because if our house is built as per Vaastu principles then it brings prosperity and happiness. At the same time, if the house is not constructed as per Vaastu then it can cause many problems in life. Vastu Shastra provides specific guidelines for the installation of deities in our homes, and here are some important considerations:

Avoid keeping idols of dead relatives:

According to Vastu, it is not advisable to keep pictures or idols of dead relatives in the puja room or temple of your home. During Pitru Paksha, dead ancestors should be worshiped separately. Furthermore, idols or pictures of dead relatives should not be worshiped daily, as this can create various problems in life.

Do not keep idols of these Gods and Goddesses:

Some Gods, like Kali Mata, Rahu, Ketu, and Shani Dev (Saturn) should not be kept in the puja room as they are considered difficult and challenging to please. Their worship involves complex rituals that are not suitable for regular home worship. Keeping idols of such deities may invite unnecessary challenges and obstacles.

Do not keep the idol of dancing Ganesha:

Vastu Shastra advises not to keep a dancing Ganesha idol made of plaster of Paris in the puja room. Instead, it is better to place an idol of a sitting Ganesha. The idol of seated Ganesha is believed to bestow blessings and good fortune.

Keep the idol of Goddess Lakshmi:

You must keep the idol of Goddess Lakshmi in your puja room. Goddess Lakshmi is associated with wealth and prosperity, and her presence in the home is believed to attract financial well-being. Make sure that the idol of Goddess Lakshmi is sitting comfortably and not standing.
