How to Reverse Wrong UPI Transaction: In the last few years, digital payment transactions have increased, especially since people have started doing more UPI transactions through mobile. It is very easy to make payments through mobile. But, sometimes due to a small mistake while making a payment, the money goes into the account of the wrong person. After this, users start getting worried about how will they get this money back.

What to do first in case of wrong UPI payment
If you ever do a wrong UPI transaction, then first of all contact the customer service department of your bank or UPI service provider. According to RBI guidelines, you will first have to inform the customer support of your payment service provider about the wrong transaction.

After money is transferred to the wrong account through UPI or net banking, you can lodge a complaint by calling 18001201740 (toll-free number). Here you will have to give all your details related to payment in detail.

You can also complain on the NPCI portal
If your problem is not resolved then you can lodge a complaint on the NPCI portal https://www.npci.org.in. Click on “What We do” on the portal and select “UPI” from the available options. After this, scroll down to go to the “Complaint Section”, and fill in the details of the transaction, including bank name, UPI ID, email and phone number. After this, select the option of ‘Issue’ ‘Incorrectly transferred to the wrong UPI address’. Also, attach valid documents also.

If the problem is not resolved even after 30 days of filing the complaint, you can contact the Banking Ombudsman for further assistance. Let us tell you that you can complain about wrong transaction only within 3 days.
