Ginger and black pepper decoction will prevent dry cough
Recently I was troubled with a dry cough. Once it hits, it doesn't stop. To reduce my cough, my mother prepared this decoction at home and gave it to me and it made a lot of difference to me. Ginger and black pepper have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It helps in controlling the symptoms of cold and cough. Along with this, you also get relief from sore throat, pain and swelling.
Ingredients for making decoction-
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tsp jaggery
- 2 inch piece of ginger
- A pinch of salt
- 3 cups water
Method of making-
- First, grind the black pepper thoroughly and keep it aside. Also, pinch the ginger.
- After this, pour water into a pan and let it boil. Now add black pepper, ginger and a pinch of salt and cook on low flame for 15 minutes.
- Then add jaggery to it and cook for 1 more minute. Switch off the flame filter it and sip slowly.
Get relief from cold with a decoction of basil and turmeric
Turmeric and basil are two spices and herbs which are anti-viral. Their anti-bacterial properties help boost your immunity. It also helps in breaking fever and helps in removing phlegm along with curing throat pain, cough and cold.
Ingredients for making decoction-
- 1 inch piece of raw turmeric
- 4-5 basil leaves
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tsp honey
Method of making-
- First of all, grind turmeric and black pepper well.
- Pour water into a pan, boil it and then add turmeric, black pepper and crushed basil leaves and cook for 10 minutes.
- Filter it take it out in a cup add honey on top, mix it and drink it comfortably.
Decoction of basil, giloy and cinnamon will boost immunity
Giloy helps in controlling colds and coughs caused due to allergies caused by pollution, smoke or pollen. It reduces infection and makes breathing easier. At the same time, basil and cinnamon reduce swelling in the throat. This is a good decoction for people who get sick frequently.
Method of making decoction-
- 3-4 Giloy leaves
- 4-5 basil leaves
- 1 piece cinnamon
- 1/2 inch ginger
- 2 cups water
- a pinch of rock salt
- 1 teaspoon jaggery
Method of making-
- First, grind all the ingredients little by little. After this, pour water into a pan and heat it.
- Now add all the ingredients except jaggery in water and let it cook for about 15 minutes.
- When the water reduces to half, add jaggery to it and cook for 1 minute.
- Filter it, add a pinch of rock salt to it and drink it slowly.
These decoctions not only boost your immunity but also improve your digestion. You will also get relief from body pain due to fever.
