Lohgarh Fort is situated at a distance of about 12 to 15 kilometers from Lonavala Hill Station in Maharashtra. Its height is about 3400 feet above sea level. It has four gates, which include Narayan Darwaza, Hanuman Darwaza, Ganesh Darwaza, and Maha Darwaza.


Talking about its history, the history of Lohgarh fort is quite famous. Different rulers have ruled here at different times. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured this fort in 1648 but gave it back to the Mughals in 1665 due to the Treaty of Purandar. Then in 1670, he included this fort back in his empire.

The road to Lohgarh Fort starts from Lohgarhwadi village. One has to climb about 250 to 350 steps to reach the top of the fort, which takes about 50 minutes.
