The right way to use oil while cooking

  • Experts say that many people, after frying chips, puri or anything else, heat the oil again and again and use it for frying. This is not right.
  • If you are reusing frying oil, then use it for making gravy or kneading dough. Do not use it for frying again and again.
  • If you are using oil after reheating it again and again, the amount of many harmful compounds like acrylamide, trans fat, peroxide and polar compounds increases in it.
  • Whenever you eat something fried or any oily vegetable, remove the excess oil from the food with the help of a paper towel, spoon or anything else.
  • Heating the same oil again and again and frying food in it increases the risk of cancer.
  • If you use vegetable oil like sunflower oil, peanut oil, it can cause inflammation in the body, increase the risk of heart diseases and lead to premature ageing.
  • Experts say that sometimes shallow frying is done in the wrong way and it uses more oil than deep frying. So, keep this in mind.
  • On high flame, the fats present in the oil turn into trans fats and these increase the risk of heart diseases. And when this oil is reused, this risk increases further.
  • Experts recommend using ghee, olive oil, avocado oil and flax seeds oil.
  • These oils are rich in omega-6 fatty acids and promote arthritis, heart diseases and inflammation.
