Prunes and black raisins
Both these things are one of the best remedies for constipation. Prunes and black raisins contain fibre, which loosens the stool and relieves symptoms of constipation. Both these things work like laxatives, which improve digestion. Not only this, it can prove helpful for many other stomach-related problems like pain, acidity indigestion etc.
Method of taking
- Soak 3-4 black raisins and 1 prune in water overnight and eat it in the morning.
Psyllium husk
Eat Isabgol to get relief from constipation. It contains a high amount of fibre, which puts pressure on the stomach, making bowel movements easier. Apart from this, it has anti-inflammatory properties, which prevent swelling.
Method to use
- You can take 1 teaspoon of Isabgol in a glass of water/milk at bedtime.
Celery
Celery is not a spice, but an Ayurvedic medicine. Thymol is present in celery. It is a panacea for almost every stomach-related problem like pain, gas, acidity, constipation etc. By eating this, digestive enzymes increase and the stomach gets cleaned well in the morning.
Method to use
- Before sleeping, take 1/2 teaspoon of celery mixed in a glass of water.
Castor oil
Castor oil is a natural and cheap remedy for those who often suffer from constipation. Castor oil is much better than expensive medicines to get relief from constipation. This causes the muscles in your intestines to contract and expel stool.
Method to use
- Mix 2-3 drops of castor oil in a cup of milk or water and take it 2-3 times a week.
Probiotics
These improve intestinal health. The main reason for the problem of constipation is the reduction of good bacteria in the stomach. Taking probiotics maintains the balance of good bacteria and relieves constipation.
Method to use
- For probiotics, include curd, kefir, kombucha etc. in the diet.
Malasana
In Malasana, you sit in the same position as you sit while passing stool. If you wake up in the morning and sit in this asana, you will get relief from the problem of constipation. It helps by stimulating the digestive system and providing relief from gas.
Method to use
- Upon waking up, drink warm water and sit in Malasana for 5-10 minutes.
