We all do different types of exercises to stay fit. Generally, it is advisable to follow a fitness routine that you enjoy as well. Every person follows a fitness routine as per his choice. Some like to do yoga and some like cardio. But skipping rope is a workout that everyone likes.
Many people used to jump rope even in their childhood. They now find the childhood sport a great way to keep themselves fit. Certainly jumping rope is a great exercise. But it is very important to do it correctly. Often people make some small mistakes while jumping rope, about which we are telling you today in this article-
Shaking hands a lot
Often people move their hands too much while jumping rope. Especially if you're a beginner, you may move your elbows or shoulders too much while jumping rope. This is not only ineffective but also extremely tiring.
Therefore, whenever you jump rope, try to do it while standing in front of the mirror. This will help you a lot in monitoring your body movements. Remember that your arms should remain mostly still and most of the movement should come from the wrists.
Jump very high
This is a common mistake that people usually make while jumping rope. When we are beginners, we try to jump very high, so that the rope does not get stuck between the legs. But in reality, it is not considered right to do so. When you jump too high, you get stuck again and again.
Not only this, it puts extra stress on the legs and you tire yourself quickly. For a basic jump, you should only rise 1-2 inches or less off the ground. During this time your knees should not come up.
Not warming up properly
However, warm-ups should always be done before starting a workout. But it is very important to take care while jumping rope. Some people do not warm up or do very little to save time. Jumping without a proper warm-up can increase the risk of injury. So, before you do that, spend a few minutes doing light exercises like jumping jacks or jogging.
Skipping rope
When you do skipping rope exercises, many variations can be done in it. You can make variations in it keeping in mind your practice and level. But some people are beginners, but after watching others, they start doing complex moves like double-under or crossover. If you do advanced moves suddenly, it increases your risk of injury.
