The team at Instagram has recently launched Threads, a competitor to X (formerly Twitter). Threads went viral overnight after its launch and became the first social media app to get 100 million users in the shortest time, but as fast as Threads went viral, it ended just as fast.
Threads has users but no one is using it. Till a few days ago, there was no option to delete the account in Threads, but now the company is considering it.
According to the report, the option to delete the account is going to come soon in Threads. After the new update, you will be able to delete your Threads account without deleting your Instagram account.
The main reason for the threads going viral was that people's accounts were created in one click. It's a lot like X. Its features are also similar to X. There is an option to repost and post. Only a few days ago, hashtag support came in Threads which was not there earlier.
As of now, Threads accounts can only be temporarily deactivated. There is no option to delete it completely. At present, if you want to delete the Threads account, you will have to delete your Instagram account too. Now it remains to be seen how many users remain on the thread after the account delete option comes.
