According to the report of News India, IAS officer Rukmini Riar had failed in the sixth class, but you will be surprised to know that when she appeared in the UPSC exam in 2011, she got All India Rank 2. IAS Rukmini Riar went ahead after winning from fear
Rukmini Riyar, a resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab, was average in her studies, but she had failed in the sixth standard, due to which fear had settled in her mind. After this she also got depression and she was very ashamed that she had failed. She was too scared to talk to her family and friends. After being under stress for several months, she decided that she would never fail and bring glory to her parents.
After finishing school, Rukmini completed her further studies at Amritsar and took admission to Guru Nanak Dev University. She completed her graduation in Social Science. After this, took admission to the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai for post-graduation.
She was awarded the Gold Medal for her excellent performance at graduation. Rukmini completed her internship with Annapurna Mahila Mandal while staying in Mumbai. After this, she started preparing for UPSC.
How did you prepare for the UPSC exam?
She prepared very hard for the UPSC exam and apart from reading newspapers daily, she also used to solve old papers. The result was that Rukmini Riar achieved success on the very first attempt. In the year 2011, Rukmini achieved UPSC All India Rank 2 and also presented this example in front of the people that if something is determined in mind then it can be completed. AS Rukmini Riar is currently holding the post of Sriganganagar District Collector.
