How many tests are done in Pregnancy: Pregnancy is a journey of 9 months. The baby grows slowly during these nine months. Different parts of the child grow. Small cells join together to form a baby. In such a situation, there is a need to closely monitor the development of children. For this, experts recommend doing some important tests during pregnancy. Let us know which those important tests are. Aakar Kapoor, Founder, of City Imaging and Clinical Labs is giving information about this.

First Test - Dating Scan

Dating scan takes place every 5 to 7 weeks. Through this scan, it is known whether the pregnancy is inside the uterus or not. Through this scan, parents can know whether it is a single pregnancy or multiple pregnancies. It screens the baby's heart, that is, it is seen whether a heartbeat has occurred or not.

Second Test- NT/NB Scan

This scan is done in 11.5 to 13 weeks. Through this scan, the nasal bone and spinal cord are examined. In this, the thickness of the nuchal fold of the baby in the womb is measured, which is the tissue area present at the back of the neck. With the help of this test, we try to detect genetic disorders like Down syndrome.

Third Test- Congenital Anomaly Scan

This test is done between 18 to 22 weeks of pregnancy i.e. during mid-pregnancy. For this test, all the body parts of the child are examined in depth. In this test, the child's brain, heart, stomach, kidney and spine are thoroughly examined. This is the most important test of pregnancy.

Fourth- Fetal Echo Scan

This test is very important to know the health of the child's heart. Many times it is seen that after the birth of a child, problems like a hole in the heart are detected. This happens between 20 to 24 weeks. It is very important to do this test for those suffering from high-risk pregnancy like diabetes and high blood pressure. With the help of fetal echo, the doctor can know the structure of the child's heart and whether it is functioning properly or not.

Fifth- Growth Scan

It is necessary to get a growth scan done in the third trimester of pregnancy. This shows whether the baby is growing normally or not. Only this test reveals when the child will be delivered.
