The election bugle has sounded in the country and all the political parties are busy in their preparations. Someone is releasing the list of their candidates, while someone is making an election strategy. But it cannot be ignored at all that the voter's role in elections is probably the biggest, because it is the public who decides who will come into the government and who will not. Now, when we are talking about voters, you must have noticed that when you go to vote, a blue ink is put on your finger which does not fade away for many days. In such a situation, have you ever wondered what is there in this ink that does not come out quickly? Probably not, but you can learn a lot about this blue ink. So let's know about this...

What is this blue ink?
When the voter goes to vote, the officer puts blue ink on his finger. This helps in identifying which person has cast his/her vote. But let us know here that this is not a common ink. A company named Mysore Paint and Varnish Limited produces it and this ink is used only in elections.

Why doesn't the finger come out quickly?
Once this blue ink is applied to the finger, it cannot be removed from the skin for at least 72 hours. This happens because silver nitrate chemical is used in making it. Then when this ink is applied to the skin, the silver nitrate already present in it mixes with the salt present in our body and forms silver chloride.

Then when this chloride dissolves in water and remains attached to the skin, it cannot be removed even with soap. At the same time, when this ink comes in contact with water, its color changes to black, and then it becomes more difficult to erase it.

Can you buy this ink?
Can this ink be sold in retail or can an individual purchase this ink? So the answer is no, because the company that prepares this ink gives this ink to the election-related agencies or to the government itself. Apart from this, it cannot be sold to any other person, company, etc.
