Termite Control Remedies: Termite infestation in furniture is a common problem. Moist and dark places are prone to termites. A small termite can ruin your entire furniture. So if you see termite soil anywhere in the house, measures should be taken to remove it immediately. Lakhs of them live in one place and gradually work to hollow out the furniture.
Why do termites live in wood only?
The main diet of termites is cellulose, which is found in considerable quantity in trees, plants, wood, grass, etc. Cellulose becomes easy to digest due to the microelements present in their digestive system and they also get essential nutrients from it. Apart from this, the termite's mouth is adapted to eat wood and the like.
Home remedies to get rid of termites
1. Neem oil
Neem oil is the most effective way to kill termites. Keep pouring neem oil on the wood continuously for a few days, it kills termites.
2. Salt Solution
Salt is an insecticide. Termites die by sprinkling salt. Soaking cotton in salt solution and keeping it in a termite-infested place destroys it by eating it.
3. Cardboard
By soaking cardboard in water and keeping it near the termite-infested place, termites get attached to the cardboard. Then pick up this cardboard and keep it in the sun or take it outside and burn it. Doing this three to four times can get rid of them.
4. Poppy seed oil
The aromatic oil that comes out of the poppy root is also effective in its elimination. Keeping the perfume of poppy seed in a wooden drawer or almirah prevents termites. Along with this, other insects also stay away. Spraying poppy seed oil on wood kills termites.

Termites cannot tolerate sunlight at all. So leave any furniture that has termites in the sun for a few days. All termites will die.
