How about you touch two phones and the contact numbers of both get exchanged. Amazing isn't it? Apple has released this feature with its new iOS 17. The name of this feature is NameDrop. With its help, the contact number can be shared as soon as the iPhone is touched. The most important thing is that files can also be shared along with contact numbers.

What is the NameDrop feature?
A new feature called NameDrop has been released for the contact number AirDrop in iOS 17. Using NameDrop, iPhone users can share contacts with anyone. This means that now you will not have to type the contact number of another person to get it, rather you just touch both the iPhones, and the number will pop up. Not only the phone number but also the name, email ID and DP of the person will be displayed. Photos, videos, and other files can also be shared through Namedrop.

How to use NameDrop
First things first, both your iPhone and the other person's iPhone need to be running iOS 17. That means NameDrop supports only iPhone XS and later iPhones. To turn on AirDrop on your iPhone, open your phone's Settings, go to General Settings, and select AirDrop. Now, toggle on Bringing Devices Together under the Start Sharing By section. You will now be able to swap numbers with NameDrop. With this option turned on, you'll also be able to share photos, videos, and other files using NameDrop.

To share your contact, all you have to do is bring the iPhone closer and place it on top of the other iPhone. As soon as the connection is made, a pop-up will appear on both iPhones. Here users get two options. First, you can select 'Receive Only' and receive the contact card of the second iPhone. Alternatively, you can select 'Share'. You can also allow other iPhones to receive contact cards and share your own contact cards.
