What is the live location?
The Live Location feature of WhatsApp allows users to share real-time locations with their acquaintances. So, if you're on the move, your live location will show your exact location, which changes as you move. One advantage of this is that how long the live location has to be shown, remains in your hands.
How to share location on WhatsApp?
If you are using an Android mobile phone, here are the steps to share your location via WhatsApp:
-First, open the chat of the contact with whom you want to share your location.
-On the right side of the messaging bar (which is below chat), you will find a paperclip icon.
Click on the paperclip icon and then click on the location icon.
From here you will have the option to share your current location or live location. Tap on either of the two options and send the location.
You can also turn off the location-sharing option at any time. For this open the chat where you are sharing your location and select the option 'Stop Sharing'.
How to share location via WhatsApp on iOS mobile
-If you're running the iOS version, open a chat with the contact you want to share your location with.
-On the right side of the messaging bar (which is below the chat), you will find a plus sign.
Now click on the location icon here.
-From here you can choose to share your current or live location. Tap on either of the two options and send the location.
