Swiggy Scam: Delhi Police arrested two accused last week, who used to commit fraud by hacking people's food app Swiggy accounts. According to the police, the names of the accused are AniketKalra and Himanshu Kumar. The age of both of them is 25 and 23 years respectively. Aniket earlier worked as a delivery boy for Swiggy and Zomato.

Swiggy account hacked and defrauded

According to a report in Indian Express, DCP (South), Ankit Kumar said on Monday that the accused hacked people's Swiggy accounts using the 'Interactive Voice Response System' and placed orders for groceries through the hacked accounts and later Sold them at low prices.

The police officer said that a woman living in Sultanpur had complained that the accused had committed fraud of Rs 97,197 through the Lazy Pay account linked to Swiggy. After that, the police investigated and arrested these two accused.

Police told the whole story

Police said that the people investigating the case checked the call detail records and did a technical analysis of the money transaction and found that the woman had received a call through the Automated Telephony Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system late at night and she had already received a call. It was told in the recorded voice that someone was trying to hack his account.

After that, an order of Rs 97,197 was made from the woman's Swiggy account. A police investigation found that the ordered products were delivered in Gurgaon and the number was fake. Ultimately the police arrested Aniket and Himanshu from Gurgaon.

Police said that Aniket used to buy groceries at low prices through offers and then sell them in the market. Due to this, he made a profit of about 5 to 10 per cent on every order.
